Different Kinds of Chicken Eggs for Sale

If you are looking for chicken eggs for sale online or in-store, you may not be aware that there are actually several different kinds of eggs. Three of the different types of eggs you might purchase include barn-laid, cage eggs, and free range eggs. Barn laid eggs, as the name would indicate, come from chickens who live in barns. Chickens are able to walk around, mingle with each other, and have a large area to walk around without the danger of predators and inclement weather.

Cage free eggs are eggs that come from chickens who are raised in an open barn in floor systems. The chickens in these systems will typically be provided with perches and nest boxes in which to lay their eggs. The proximity of chickens to each other depends on the farm.

Finally, free range eggs are eggs laid by chickens who are allowed “free range” for at least part of the day. Many free range chickens are allowed a barn space that they can go in and out of as they please throughout the day while others are housed in a barn or shed and let out to free range for part of the day. Whichever type of egg you choose to buy, however, is a matter of personal preference, but you will most likely be very pleased with the flavor of any of these varieties of chicken eggs for sale.
